A Primer on Habitat LA Team Build Projects

broken image

A nonprofit organization, Habitat for Humanity has constructed, repaired, and revitalized over 1,500 residences in various communities worldwide since 1990. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) collaborates with diverse groups to enhance homes in the Greater Los Angeles community.

Engaging in Habitat LA’s team build projects offers organizations group experiences. The opportunities welcome volunteers from various sectors, including professional, entertainment, faith-based, veterans, and active military. Additionally, individuals commemorating special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries can also participate.

Habitat LA provides multiple types of team build projects. Construction team build days involve working on new sites or residence preservation projects. The project hosts up to 15 participants per team build, with options for larger groups, open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Playhouse Build program focuses on mobile playhouse construction. Groups convene at spacious locations or one of Habitat LA’s ReStore. Up to ten volunteers can participate in a full-day shift, or 20 volunteers in two shifts. Finally, ReStore days gather groups of ten or fewer people who volunteer at Habitat LA's ReStore locations. Flexible opportunities are available for various shifts across Habitat LA’s three locations.
